Who he was?
 
A famous gangster during the time of Prohibition along with Johnny Torrio.

What he did? 
Al Capone started in a gang when he was eleven year of age. He was later to be mentored by Johnny Torrio, teaching him all he knew about being a gangster until Johnny handed the business on down to him when he retired after a failed assassination attempt. (Capone, Al (1899-1947)) He also took in hundreds of millions of dollars selling booze he got from out of the country. (Crime) After he killed another man in a fight he moved to Chicago and began building a crime empire, he used corrupt law enforcement and government officials to make Chicago more lawless.  Capone and Torrio made a fortune of illegal liquor sales; he even killed of other Heads of illegal liquor organization like “Big Jim” Colosmo and took the profit from his losses. (Capone, Al (1899-1947))

Interesting fact: He was also known as "Scarface" do to having disfiguring scars on hisface. 

 
Event that brought Violence?
Al Capone brought Violence and crime along with his power. One prime example is the St. Valentine's Day Massacre, 1929 where 6 men lined up against the wall and shot with a Thompson machine gun, a shotgun and, revolvers.

Johnny Torrio

What he did?
Johnny brought about the rise of illegal liquor sales on the east side of North America. He also brought about a more modern style of crime, and was the man who mastered prostitution and gambling.

Things said about him? It was also said that what Johnny Torrio built in the Prohibition-era, which was sale of liquors, was like what John D. Rockefeller did in the oil industry. (Crime) He was the mentor to and helped the modern crime organization with Al Capone, the biggest Gangster in the 1920's. (Capone, Al)

Interesting Fact: He was known as "The Brain" because he was the mastermind of organized crime (Capone, Al)
